A Book Spine Poem for Your Viewing Pleasure

Going in a slightly different direction today… This is a book spine poem. The idea is not mine – it came from my local library’s adult summer reading program (brilliant program, btw). Their rules: arrange the spines of any number of books of your choosing so that the titles comprise a poem/tell a story. Then you take a picture and submit it – the librarians will pick the one they like best and that person will win a “gift basket of book-related items.” How clever and fabulous!

So of course I had to enter. πŸ™‚

Here’s what I came up with. It was more than a little challenging, particularly since I only have about 2.5 boxes of my 1200+ books unpacked (long story very short, my uncle is building me a beautiful set of built-in shelves, but he couldn’t start until we finished finishing the basement, and since then his schedule has been a mess). So I didn’t have a ton of titles to pick from – but I still think it turned out pretty cool.

Let me know what you think – and if you do one of your own, put up a link so we can all see!

***

Time and again,

    love walked in.

The long walk.
Blink,

    and she was
    the thief of Time.

Now, face to face,

    belong to me.

Forever.
