Here I sit, feeling a little poetical and a little more whimsical, so today we’re going to talk in haiku… I love haiku. What a fun, random, quirky way to express a thought, eh? I like to think of myself as fun, random and quirky so think that it may in fact be the poetic form that is most Jill-Elizabethish. They seem so simple, yet are quite often misleadingly complex – in meaning, even if not always in word. Again, I’m seeing a personal parallel. Hm… I guess I’d better stop introducing them before I give any more of myself away, so here goes… Enjoy!

Haiku make me laugh.
Such funny little tidbits
Of weird randomness.
***
Sitting in the dark
Alone with my thoughts and head
Afraid of the noise.
***
Love is in the air
Filling my nose with romance.
Eek, it makes me sneeze.
***
Walking in the woods
We see a small snail graveyard.
Who told them it’s here?
***
Don’t know where to go?
Maybe you’re already there
And just don’t know it.
***
What’s simple is true.
Sometimes the hardest part is
Knowing where to start.
***
If a tree falls alone
In a forest by itself
Does the sky hear it?
***
I love the winter.
Snow blankets the world in quiet
Letting my ears rest.
***
If I love you more
Tomorrow than yesterday
What about today?
***
You can aim for stars –
Reaching ever higher up.
Just watch if they fall.
Great Haiku!! I ejoyed them.
Why thank you Dana! They are so fun to write, honestly – I wish there were a market for haiku… 🙂
Love the Haiku’s. This was my favorite poetic form in school.
Blessings,
Kathy
