In Which I Make it to the Poetry Spotlight

Well, if I may say so, congratulations to me – I have been selected as a featured poet in Lena Sledge’s Spotlight Poetry Contest! To see my featured poem, visit her blog here. She is still accepting submissions, if any of you are poets and/or would like to play one on TV…

Also, please be sure to visit again later this month – I will remind you, don’t worry! – so you can vote for me as the featured poem of the contest, which would mean I would win an actual cash prize (as well as fame and glory, of course)!

I truly enjoyed your poem. I truly love the “instant” you fell in love with”our Son. He is one special guy who was “lucky” to have a chance to love the ‘instant” he met you.

  • Aw – Franclemom, I love that instant too, and believe me, he is not half as lucky as I am… 🙂

  • Congratulations. I’m impressed. I’ve never been very good with poetry, and I have an especially hard time making poetry rhyme without it seeming forced, but you’ve done a great job making it seem fluid. I’ll be sure to check back and vote.

  • Why thank you Paul! It is surprisingly fun to write them – I’ve written a few now, originally started doing them as writing exercises because of the structure/word limitations, and have enjoyed it more than I ever would have imagined…
