Book Review: Door to Door by T.L. Brown

I don’t even know where to begin… This is a fantastic story. Absolutely fantastic. And I say that not only because I’ve known about it since its early genesis and been able to watch it develop over time, but because it is a well-written story populated by deeply relatable characters set in a universe that is original and magical and entertaining.

It’s a cozy mystery without the seemingly obligatory small English Village, librarian-turned-sleuth, or over-reliance on coincidence or puns. There are tea and cats though – but only in supporting roles. The story is well paced, the writing is crisp, and everything about this one works for me. There is drama, adventure, and just enough magic to keep things interesting.

The book is the first in a trilogy, with the subsequent titles set for release in 2021 – so you don’t have to worry about waiting forever to see where things go next… I, for one, cannot wait for installment number two – which, rumor has it, is due out this summer.

If you’d like a sample – or to listen to the full book! – you can check out T.L. Brown’s Facebook page. Over the winter, she read the entire book for her listeners. You can find it here. This is also where you can find information on the forthcoming titles in the series and learn more about her and her writing.

Thank you to the author for my obligation-free review copy.
