What’s that, you say? FIVE STARS from ME for short stories?! (And they’re FREE?!) It’s true, your eyes are not deceiving you – or are they??
This was the most excellent world-introduction I’ve seen in some time. C.R. Berry has offered us glimpses into his pending series that are provocative, conspiracy-laden, entertaining, and delightfully crafted. The things I normally find irritating about shorts – the shortage of character development, compressed plots and revelations, and the overall lack of detail – were enticements here, rather than irritants. Each story offers a snapshot of an interaction in Berry’s new world of time travel and time changes and the people who witness them – wittingly and not-so-much so. Those snapshots form an album of intrigue and secrets, lies and truths – each of which is as fluid as time itself.
If you like falling into a world that promises dark but engaging views into what would’a/could’a/should’a happens throughout history, Extra Time is definitely for you! And if the book wasn’t cool enough, there’s also a website where you can join the conspiracy buffs in figuring out the *real* timeline – http://www.millioneyes.co.uk/. It’s brilliant and oh-so-fun. Keep your eyes out in the new year for the first in the series – the ebook releases in January and the paperback in March 2020!
