Book Review: Fragile World by Kerby Rosanes

Oh. My. Goodness! This one is more art than coloring book…

Here’s the blurb: Fragile World is a coloring book to savor, exploring fifty-six endangered, vulnerable, and threatened animals and landscapes—from the Tapanuli orangutan to the hawksbill turtle, from Philippine bat caves to the Baltic Sea.

And believe me when I tell you – it is an incredible homage to the world’s animals and locations.

With delicate lines and incredibly intricate designs that blend fantasy and reality, Rosanes has created a master-work for you to color in. There are pages that feature art like the cover – a melange of animals and their habitats, worked into clever and creative imaginings. There are also depictions of the animals in their habitats that are incredibly realistic.

Make no mistake – this is NOT your child’s coloring book. The designs are complex and detailed and require a careful hand to do them justice. They are, in short, the perfect way to force yourself to sit down, concentrate, and focus on something other than the myriad jumble of things that likely flow through your (like my) head on a regular basis.

Thanks to the author and publisher for my obligation-free review copy of this delightful book!
