About “My Name is Kevin”
This book chronicles the life and crime of AA member, Kevin Dowd. He is a thief who steals money from unsuspecting ATM visiting victims.

Kevin is deft enough to use his meetings of AA as a perfect alibi, because he robs his victims around the same time as his meetings.

Another aspect of Kevin, as the author likes to put it – he is a “benevolent robber”.

Book Review
The mystery novel starts with an epilogue from the author where the author talks about addiction and the various forms it manifests in. He also makes an opinion that everybody is addicted to money and power. The author dedicates the work of fiction to all those he helped overcome addiction.

The first chapter of the novel unfolds against the backdrop of St. Raphael Church in a suburban Connecticut, CT town; where the protagonist Kevin attends AA meetings.

The novel in the beginning talks about Kevin, his addiction, subsequent AA meetings and his penchant for robbing off unsuspecting ATM victims.

The novel also zooms on Detective Sgt. Doreen Pousant, her attempts to uncover the culprit on ATM robberies and her battle with alcohol addiction herself, which impedes her growth in the Police Department.

The novel further delves in to the investigation of Pousant where she uncovers a plot to plague and dismantle the system of banking in New York City, NY. That the economic depression of 2007-2009 was in fact has its root in an Islamic extremist attack.

The novel weaves a collage of Kevin Dowd, his AA fellow members, an alcoholic police detective, all the way to international terrorism, Iran, and Al-Qaeda!

It is an interesting dramatic reading where a thug becomes an unlikely hero who saves the economy of a nation.
