Apparently, Someone Thinks I’m a Decent Poet…

And that someone is NOT just me. πŸ˜‰ Seriously, I have been fortunate enough to have had one of my poems selected as a “Best of the Web” love poem (you can find it here fifth from the bottom or here directly), and now I’m going to express extreme self-aggrandizement for a bit.

HOORAY! HOORAY! I’m not even a serious poetry writer, and yet people seem to like my poems – WOOHOO!

Okay, enough of that. Sorry for the blatant self-promotion, but I guess that’s what a blog is all about, eh? Plus, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again (as have many a writer before me and most likely many will after as well): writing can be a lonely and somewhat disheartening business from time-to-time.

HOORAY FOR ME! HOORAY FOR…

Sorry – couldn’t help myself there. I’m done this time for real, promise. But hey, cut me some slack – so far poems are the only things I’ve gotten independent accolades for, since I’m willing to “publish” them on the blog because I don’t intend to publish them in any book form at this point. πŸ™‚

    YEAH! Woot! *throws confetti*

*engages in a somewhat awkward happy dance, but it’s heartfelt*

That’s great news, Jill! I happen to know what an awesome writer you are. And now a recognized poet?

Why, I do declare. In all seriousness: You rock. πŸ™‚

  • Aww – thanks Tracy! I don’t know about rocking, but it was still a nice thing… And I *REALLY* wish I could have seen the happy dance. Maybe at the next LCRW meeting? πŸ˜‰
