I Want YOU… To Submit a Guest Post for Consideration!

So I know a lot of you loyal Jill-Elizabeth.com readers are writers/bloggers/thinkers/poets/dreamers/musers/etc. yourselves, and that many of you have your own work to publicize. Well good news – I want to help! I have developed a set of guidelines for submitting guest posts and they are now available here for your viewing pleasure.

At this time, I am willing to consider contributions of original fiction, poetry, book reviews, and original non-fiction related to reading and/or writing. If you want to get a good sense of the type of stuff I’m likely to agree to publish, just take a look around – as you can see, I am pretty random, and as long as there is some connection to reading or writing, I am happy to give your submission my fullest consideration.

As you know, I have already featured a few guest posts (and more are coming!), and I really hope more of you will consider submitting. This is a great opportunity for cross-linking, readership sharing, and increased exposure (of the good kind, I assure you!) for both you, the contributor, and me, the host. Plus, it gives my regular readers a chance to occasionally treat themselves to a bit o’ something different.

So let’s see what you’ve got – I can’t wait to see some great new stuff and to be able to help put it out into the world!

  • Great idea Jill.
Here’s a poem I wrote (in college), actually the only poem I ever wrote ((*_*)).

    PERSONIFICATION

The trees outside my window are not alone
    in their lonliness.
They shiver and shake in the cold, never bending and twisting their limbs, in vain effort, to cover their bare spots.

I hate personification. It isn’t fair.

  • You know I wrote the first line wrong (although this works too.)
The trees are not embarrassed in their nakedness (makes more sense with the bare spots. – oh we writers ((*_*))
Then I can join you in our famousness (or at least fabulousness.)

    • teehee – we writers change words ALL THE TIME!! it’s our blessing, curse, prerogative, obsession… 😉 I have changed it – you are definitely in the hopper now, so please do prepare for famous fabulosity!!

  • ((*_*))
Thnaks Jill and have a good and safe 4th!!

  • Hi Jill,
I have a post I would like to share from my own website. Is that something you would be interested in? I really like the idea of cross-referencing blogs to expose our readers to other writers. It’s something I want to do with my blog, as well. Anyway, the post I was considering is a little bit about why I write in general and a little bit about why I write in the horror genre. You can check it out at my blog, http://www.pauldail.com. It’s a relatively new blog, so you won’t have a hard time finding the post, but just in case, the title is “Why do I like to write horror stories?” Look forward to hearing back from you.

    • That is exactly the kind of post I would like to highlight, thanks Paul! And I am glad someone else also sees the value – to us as writers and to our readers – in cross-posting and exposing various audiences to various writings/writers. Based on my general scan of your other posts, I think there should be a good cross-interest between my blog and yours, so I think this will work out well. I can probably post it as early as next week – will send you an email when it goes live. Thanks for stopping by and responding – I look forward to being able to offer your post!
